From UMHC Hiking Guide

(Redirected from Ribblehead)

This area is popular for its local three peaks walk that includes Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside, the traverse of all three peaks being the objective for many to do in a day. The three peaks also provide the main attraction for the hiking club members and Ingleborough in particular provides extra interest in the form of its limestone features and caves. All three peaks are easy climbs by themselves and each one is described separately.

Other summits in the area that can be climbed include Dodd Fell at 668m towards Wendsleydale. This is described in more detail in this section. Ribbledale itself provides plenty of pleasant low-level walking opportunities.

Eating and Drinking

The village of Horton provides numerous pubs and tea shops for your afternoon cake and drink. Meanwhile Ribblehead provides an isolated pub for refreshments up there.

Travel

The valley is served well by the Settle to Carlisle railway line. Tain info can be found Here.
