From UMHC Hiking Guide
"The University of Manchester Students Union Hiking Club recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement."
If you cannot take responsibility for your own actions, climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are three of the worst possible pastimes you could choose. If you do not understand the risk, do not undertake the activity.
We are bound by UK law. Anyone undertaking any kind of outdoor group activity should pay particular attention to duty of care legislation.
