We are UMHC
Living in a big city, like Manchester, can be challenging for many of us. UMHC was created to bring hikers of all abilities and experiences together.
Our aim is to bring like-minded people together, building a sense of community whilst making friends along the way.
Every weekend we hire a bus and go hiking somewhere in the UK, usually the Lake District or Snowdonia, with walks for all abilities. We also run longer trips where we stay in bunkhouses nestled in the mountains, as well as weekly social events here in Manchester.
Our society is run entirely by volunteers, and funded through ticket and merchandise sales. We encourage everyone who enjoys the events we put on, to contribute and help out, so that our society can be appreciated by the next generation of hikers.
Throughout the year, we fundraise for various charities that are particularly important to us here at UMHC. Donating and participating in these events, would mean a lot to us.
